The Kansas City Brewery is located between the trendy intersection of historic downtown Kansas City and the up and coming Power & Light district. The brewery consists of a brewhouse, interior hospitality area, exterior beer gardens, admin and support spaces. The brewing space on the west with the interior hospitality space on the east is separated by a common entry in the center which acts to buffer the audible hum of production to improve the quality of socialization in the interior hospitality space. The interstitial space between interior hospitality and brewhouse is dedicated to two beer gardens, doubling as entry processions into the brewery. Each beer garden is able to be used or rented independently, allowing for several events to operate concurrently. The incorporation of modern beer gardens is a throwback to the history of beer culture and can be viewed from the street to entice patrons to the establishment. Through its simplistic form and modern material palette, the brewery aspires to project the contemporary trends of Power & Light, while drawing crowds from all over the city.
